⚡ TL;DR
📦 This Week's Releases
Claude Code — 6 releases (v2.1.284–v2.1.289)
Busy week for Anthropic's CLI. The headliners: v2.1.289 tightens permission rules for managed machines and improves terminal performance. v2.1.288 adds one-keystroke work recovery, better control over code review findings, and fixes for conversations that stall on long runs. Six releases in seven days suggests active dogfooding.
OpenAI Codex CLI — 6 releases (rust-v0.158.0–rust-v0.160.0)
Matching Claude at 6 drops. rust-v0.160.0 gets the biggest headlines: task history browsing, fullscreen paste support, and a major stability overhaul fixing message delays post-reconnect. Critical Windows sandbox issues also squashed. rust-v0.159.3 adds optional security setup reminders for local sessions. See Highlight section for the deeper cut on v0.158.0.
GitHub Copilot CLI — 3 releases (v1.0.89–v1.0.91)
The GPT-6.1 Sol model lands in model selection via v1.0.90 — that's the headline. Also new:
--mcp-github-auth flag to scope GitHub account auth to approved MCP server origins, session-scoped read-only directory approvals, and certificate management features in v1.0.91. Windows sandbox commands now work smoothly too.Antigravity CLI — 4 releases (v1.2.13–v1.2.16)
Android/Termux support arrives in v1.2.15 alongside smarter memory usage for faster performance. The CLI now respects permission denials and shows quota reset times in your local timezone. v1.2.16 adds arrow-key config shortcuts and fixes terminal resize performance during long conversations.
Kiro CLI — 3 releases (v2.25.0–v2.27.0)
v2.26.0 introduces reusable task workflows and a clearer upgrade path for Classic users moving to the new terminal interface. Security bump: explicit approval now required for file writes in untrusted workspaces. Practical, unglamorous, useful.
Grok Build — 3 releases (v1.0.44–v1.0.46)
v1.0.45 lets you spawn custom agents directly from config and keeps rotating credentials fresh via token file re-reading. v1.0.46 dramatically speeds up session startup when loading skills from large directories and fixes stuck video card playback.
Gemini CLI — 1 release (v0.62.0)
A focused stability drop: better auth token handling, smoother tool integration, and formatting improvements. Not flashy, but solid.
Devin Desktop — 1 release (v3.10.48)
Memory leak fix for the Agent window during long terminal commands, plus faster typing/editing from optimized settings loading. Also adds diagnostic tooling for support. Good maintenance release.
🔍 Highlight Deep Dive
OpenAI Codex CLI rust-v0.158.0 quietly set the foundation for this week's Codex surge. The release introduced configurable text selection behavior in fullscreen mode — a small UX win that adds up over a long session — and seamless OAuth bearer token support for connecting to secure servers without credential gymnastics. The more important change: terminal commands now require explicit approval for elevated permissions, while simultaneously reducing unnecessary approval prompts elsewhere. That's a tricky balance to strike (more security, less friction), and it looks like the Codex team threaded the needle.
